The Mission of Division of General Services (DGS) is to provide optimal support services to the Navajo government. This is accomplished by continuing and maintaining Communications & Utilities, Information Technology (Computer), Employee Housing, Facilities Maintenance, Insurance Services, Records Management, and Transportation (Air, Bus and Fleet) Systems

Our ultimate responsibility is to the people we serve by offering an innovative administrative approach oriented towards Navajo-culture and traditions and by providing quality support services reservation wide and periphery. Our existence and continued success is dependent on how well we meet this responsibility. We are dedicated to our Navajo government employees, our people, and our Nation and to their continued growth and success by providing a safe and healthy work environment where every employee is given the opportunity to reach their maximum potential in service to the Navajo people

We seek to be the Navajo government center for support services through active training and by keeping up with state-of-the-art technology. These avenues enhance our knowledge and allow us to provide support in specialized areas to the Navajo Nation Government.

The Government Services Committee (GSC) of the Navajo Nation Council serves as oversight authority for the DGS. The DGS Administration administers and oversees ten (10) major service department including its Administration office, to ensure that their respective and diverse services are executed in the best interest of the Navajo Nation.
